Here's Now Many NJ Residents Voted Early (Update)

Thousands of New Jersey voters spent their weekend standing in line at early voting stations fresh off an extra hour of sleep on Sunday, Nov. 3.

Record-breaking numbers were being reported from the state's 159 polling places according to Lt. Governor Tahesha Way.

Way said 138,919 people voted on Friday, Nov. 1, and 139,778 voted on Saturday, Nov. 2.

On Sunday, 150,143 residents hit the polls, Way said.

At Bergen Community College, the voting line trailed down the steps of the tech building and around the baseball field. Some hopped on happily and others turned their cars around.

Lines curled around the Rhoda Center in Teaneck (above) and around the Cherry Blossom Welcome Center in Branch Brook Park (below). Each line took approximately one hour.

As of Saturday, Nov. 2, 1,016,975 New Jersey residents had voted early, 802,148 of them being Democrats and 512,713 Republicans, according to the University of UFL Election Lab site.
