While Donald Trump won the American vote for president in the 2024 Election, Kamala Harris won in Bergen County — but only by 13,993 votes. In 2020, Joe Biden won Bergen County's vote by 81,550.
Since the 2020 election, 20 Bergen County municipalities have flipped from blue to red: Alpine, Carlstadt, East Rutherford, Elmwood Park, Fairview, Garfield, Hasbrouck Heights, Little Ferry, Lodi, Mahwah, Midland Park, Montvale, Moonachie, Oakland, Ramsey, Ridgefield, River Vale, Rochelle Park, Upper Saddle River, and Wood-Ridge,
Here's how each Bergen County municipality voted in the 2024 Presidential Election, according to votes posted to the county clerk's website (the first number is votes for Donald Trump, and the second number is votes for Kamala Harris):
- Allendale: 1,819 for Trump, 1,946 for Harris
- Alpine: 505, 402 (In 2020, 566 voted for Biden and 510 voted for Trump).
- Bergenfield: 5,465, 6,797

- Carlstadt: 1,713, 1,165 (In 2020, 1,608 voted for Biden while 1,665 voted for Harris). Hundreds of voters have flipped to red.

In New Jersey, Bergen County saw a 13-point shift from 2020, with Harris carrying the affluent suburban county by only three points. While Harris won Union County easily by 24 points, it marked a 12-point shift from 2020.
