Asthma Attack Kills North Jersey Native Samuel Cobar, 22 Samuel Cobar never let his asthma stop him from chasing his dreams, according to a fundraiser set up after his passing. The West Orange native's asthma, however, is ultimately what killed him, those who knew him said. "That then led our loving brother, son and best friend to have a life-threatening asthma attack while he was alone in his apartment, which had left him unconscious without oxygen for 50 mins," the campaign says. Cobar died on Monday, April 17 after the attack while he was alone in his Florida apartment, the page reads. More than $14,300 had been raised as of Tuesday, May 2.…

Scholarship Begun In Memory Of W. Orange Artist Lost To Opioid Addiction Sammy Rosenblatt was a talented visual artist who died from an opioid overdose in March. He had been battling addiction for years, those who knew him say. Now his family and friends seek to honor the memory of the West Orange High School alumnus. An arts scholarship has been started in his name and the first one was recently awarded to a graduating WOHS student. His family and friends are also raising funds for Shatterproof.org, a group that aids families touched by addiction, as well as preserving his photography, illustrations and other works. Memorial Planned In W. Orange For West Point Cadet Killed In Crash A memorial will be held Tuesday at West Orange High School in honor of Christopher C.J. Morgan,  a West Orange native and a cadet at West Point killed in a training exercise last week.  The memorial for Morgan, a West Orange native and a standout wrestler at West Point, begins at 7 p.m.  Morgan, 22, died when a truck overturned at the school.
