Police: 21-Year-Old Woman Punches, Spits In NJ Transit Bus Driver's Face
A 21-year-old NJ Transit passenger was charged with aggravated assault following a dispute with a bus driver, authorities said. Police responded to Bloomfield Avenue and Valley Road in Montclair on reports of a physical dispute inside of an NJ Transit bus on Jan. 13, Montclair Police Sgt. Terrence Turner said. Yolanda Bailey, of Newark, apparently spat in the driver's face and then punched him/her over the bus fare, Turner said.

19: Trio Of Montclair State Employees Test Positive
Three Montclair State University employees have returned positive COVID-19 tests, officials said. Although classes have moved to online only, campuses remain open. The school is the third statewide to discover traces of the virus on its campus, NJ.com reports. The first case was announced March 12 -- the other two were reported Wednesday night. The employee had not visited campus in the nearly two weeks after testing positive, and they were not showing symptoms when leaving their office, officials said. A ‘Rarity’: Poisonous Copperhead Snake Found In Montclair
Animal control officers in Montclair handled an out-of-the-ordinary assignment Tuesday, when they were called to safely remove a venomous copperhead snake found near a Starbucks coffee shop. “We never know what adventure awaits us when the phone rings on any given day,” Montclair animal control officer Michele Shiber said in a statement. “Last Tuesday was rather special because we got a call for a copperhead snake which is a rarity for the Montclair area.” No one was hurt by the snake, but on June 10, another copperhead bit a man’s finger in nearby Paterson.
