Three different pharmacies in Elizabeth were robbed of medications by an Irvington man with the same MO, federal authorities charged. Jersey City Killer Learns His Fate For Elizabeth Murder
A 28-year-old Jersey City man has received his punishment for the 2019 killing of an Elizabeth man. Anthony Reciofigueroa was sentenced on Thursday, Oct. 6 to 55 years in New Jersey state prison for the shooting death of Carlos Rodriguez, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel said. Reciofigueroa in June was found guilty of murder and unlawful weapon possession after a three-week trial before Union County Superior Court Judge John Deitch. US Marshals Nab NJ Murder Suspect In Philadelphia
Members of the US Marshals Service captured a New Jersey man wanted for murder in Philadelphia, authorities said. Michael Cruz, 20, had been wanted in the Plainfield killing of Somerset's David Michael Buck on Sept. 17, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel and Plainfield Police Director James T. Abney said. Cruz was captured on Monday, Oct. 3 and is pending extradition proceedings to return to New Jersey, authorities said. An Elizabeth man has been arrested on accusations he bludgeoned a woman to death over the weekend, authorities announced. Victor H. Rodriguez Gomez, 33, struck 30-year-old Carmen Lopez Barahona in the head, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel, Elizabeth Police Director Earl J. A 39-year-old Linden woman was arrested on accusations she stole nearly $350,000 through bogus Medicaid claims, authorities said. Leslie K. Lassen filed numerous falsified documents with Medicaid in which she under-reported her household income between January 2015 and December 2019, Union County Prosecutor William A. Daniel announced.
