'Undone Melody': Funeral Held For Montclair State Freshman Found Dead In Newark Bay
A funeral Mass was held Tuesday, March 19, for an 18-year-old Montclair State University freshman from Jersey City whose body was recovered from Newark Bay. Hayley Alvarado had been missing since just before Christmas last year. Her body was spotted and then recovered from the bay near Gregg County Park in Bayonne on March 5, according to the Hudson County Sheriff’s Department. Authorities Try To Reach Kin Of Homeless Man Found Dead In Passaic River In North Arlington
Authorities on Thursday continued to search for the daughter of a homeless man whose body was found Saturday in the Passaic River in North Arlington so that they may notify her of his death. Until then, they said, the 59-year-old man's identity must be withheld. A medical examiner found no apparent foul play in the death of the man, who was divorced and most recently lived in Wallington. Toxicology results were still pending. The body was discovered off River Road just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday and brought to the Kearny Boathouse deck before being collected by Bergen County authorities. …

Ramsey Man, 24, Killed By Drinking Toxic Mixture
RAMSEY, N.J. -- A 24-year-old Ramsey man died Monday after drinking a toxic cocktail made from mixing a chemical used in airbags with water. It was unclear whether the Peach Hill condominium resident knew that he was drinking sodium azide, responders said, adding that family notifications were made. Sodium azide is described as "a rapidly acting, potentially deadly chemical that exists as an odorless white solid.
