19 Outbreak Closes Paramus Schools Until January
Paramus Public Schools will be closed until January due to high rate of COVID-19 transmission within the schools, district officials said. In a letter to parents sent Nov. 25, Superintendent Sean P. The New Jersey Health Department apparently recommended the district close facilities, after an outbreak was detected by the state's Department of Disease Reporting and Surveillance System. Paramus Schools' switch to a full-remote lea…

The school is closed out of an abundance of caution from Nov. 25 through Dec. 7, Jordan said. All Dumont schools went virtual on Nov. 20 and will resume in-person learning on Dec. 7 due to "a number of reported cases [and] the shortage of available staff," the district said. The switch came after one person tested positive …

Yet another North Jersey school district that closed due to COVID-19 will not be reopening until January -- maybe longer. In a letter to the community dated Nov. 13, Hackensack Superintendent Robert Sanchez said due to the upward trend in new cases, in-person instruction will have to wait until the new year. "We understand that this news is disappointing, however, with the holiday season upon us, the spread of the virus is more likely to occur due to interstate travel, family gatherings, and indoor socializing," Sanchez said. "If we were to open to in-person instruction now…

St. Mary’s School in Pompton Lakes will permanently close at the end of this school year, officials said. Bayonne's Marist High School To Close In June
Marist High School in Bayonne will be closing in June. Declining enrollment and financial deficits ultimately forced the Catholic prep school's doors shut, President Peter G.
