Firefighters rescued one person trapped in a vehicle after a crash on Route 4 on Thursday, Sept. 26, witnesses said. Route 4 Reopens Nearly 12+ Hours After Crash Downs Wires
Route 4 has reopened more than 12 hours after a crash downed a pole and live wires in Teaneck, police said. Sometime after 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 2, a crash took down a pole in the westbound lanes near River Road, local police said. All lanes were closed with traffic getting by in one lane on the eastbound side, police said. At 9:30 p.m., Teaneck police announced the roadway had been reopened and all repairs had been made. A construction worker survived a 30-foot fall and a co-worker jumped into an open window when scaffolding collapsed Monday at the site of a massive apartment project in Teaneck, authorities said. Van Splits Utility Pole On Route 4 Approach
A van slammed into a utility pole, splitting it, just off westbound Route 4 on Friday. The driver of the Chevrolet Astro van was checked out at the scene and released following the crash just past Lakeview Street on the Grand Avenue approach to the highway in River Edge shortly before noon Aug. 4. The incident jammed area traffic. All Points Towing removed the vehicle and a crew from PSE&G replaced the pole.
