Truck Fire Spreads To Brush In Ramsey
Ramsey firefighters knocked down a truck fire that spread to nearby brush Wednesday evening, Nov. 13, the department said. The blaze was reported around 6 p.m., prompting Engine 431, Engine 432, and Engine 433 to the scene on Lake Street. First arriving crews confirmed a fully involved truck fire, which they quickly brought under control within minutes, Ramsey fire officials reported. All units operated on scene for approximately one hour before returning to service. No injuries were reported.

Nearly three dozen mutual aid companies and well over 100 firefighters helped counter a lack of area hydrants as a fast-moving blaze consumed an Upper Saddle River mansion at the Rockland County border over the weekend. No one was injured in the multi-alarm Hillside Avenue blaze, which broke out in the $2.7 million home in the north end of town shortly after 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, and instantly became fully involved, fire officials said. UPDATE: Crews got 75% of a Ramapo Mountains wildfire doused before breaking again until morning. The New Jersey Forest Fire Service initially estimated that the wildfire covered 50 acres. They revised that figure to 40 acres late Thursday afternoon, April 21. It took several hours to contain roughly half the blaze after it broke out around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Mahwah off Bear Swamp Road in the Ramapo Valley County Reservation, north of Camp Glen Gray, and quickly spread. Bedroom Fire Ravages Mahwah Home Near Rockland Border
Fire destroyed the master bedroom of a Mahwah home near the Rockland border Tuesday afternoon. Mahwah firefighters, assisted at the scene by their colleagues from Ramsey and Suffern, doused the 2:30 p.m. blaze on Alcott Road, less than a half-mile from Airmont. Driver OK In Route 17 Ramsey Rollover
A New York State driver escaped with minor injuries Tuesday in a Route 17 rollover in Ramsey, responders said. The Jeep Renegade landed on it side on the northbound side of the highway in front of Bottle King around 12:30 p.m. Extrication wasn't necessary, Police Chief Bryan Gurney said. Police, firefighters, EMS and Ramsey Rescue responded. Upper Saddle River police assisted with traffic. The vehicle was towed. Another minor accident was reported nearby around the same time.

EMS Worker Who Helped Revive Heart Attack Victim Among Honored Ramsey Responders
A Ramsey EMS worker who helped revive a 22-year-old man who went into cardiac at a local gym was among a group of heroes honored by the local Knights of Columbus. Marc Greenwood was at Retro Fitness off Route 17 when the victim collapsed on April 28, Police Chief Bryan Gurney said at the time. Ramsey Firefighters Contain Pre-Dawn Garage Blaze
Ramsey firefighters contained a pre-dawn attached garage blaze Tuesday before it extended into the home. The Elbert Street house sustained some smoke damage after firefighters pulled down the wall and ceiling of an adjoining bathroom to be sure the flames hadn't spread. UPDATE: A Mahwah family of four lost just about all of their belongings in a morning fire. Anthony Covello sustained a minor burn on his hand and his wife, Kari, was treated for smoke inhalation from the Oweno Place fire, which broke out in a small boiler room around 7 a.m., authorities said.
