The pinned 53-year-old victim was alert and conscious after the accident on McBride Avenue near Hoxey Street shortly after 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, Fire Chief Brian McDermott said. The three-alarm blaze broke on the second floor of a home in the middle of a row of squat houses on Lafayette Street out around 3 a.m. In less than 15 minutes, the flames quickly had spread to each of the two neighboring homes, as well. Driver Seriously Injured In Rollover Off Route 80 A driver was seriously injured in a horrific rollover crash off Route 80 in Paterson early Thursday evening. New Jersey State Police, Paterson firefighters and EMS responded after the small SUV crashed on the exit off the westbound highway to Route 19 shortly before 8 p.m. The 20-something driver, who lost consciousness after being ejected, suffered multiple injuries, responders said.
