Elmwood Park PD: Fleeing Tenafly Driver Who Nearly Dragged Officer Caught
UPDATE: Elmwood Park police tracked down and arrested a Tenafly motorist who they said sped off, nearly dragging a uniformed officer with him, following a Friday morning traffic stop. William Ennis, 27, was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, eluding and obstruction of justice. Officers Joseph Pride and Keith Hartmann stopped the vehicle on River Drive near Slater Drive around 11:30 a.m., Police Chief Michael Foligno said. Hackensack PD: Boy, 15, Crashes Mom's Car, Both Concoct Carjacking Story
HACKENSACK, N.J. -- A Hackensack woman and her 15-year-old son concocted a bogus carjacking story after he crashed and then abandoned her car on the New Jersey Turnpike, authorities said. The teen had taken the car belonging to Mercida Landron in the early morning hours of April 7 to pick up his girlfriend in Jersey City, Capt. Francesco Aquila said. Suspect In 24 Bergenfield Burglaries Locked Up Again While Leaving Jail
A 27-year-old Bergenfield man is facing a slew of burglary-related charges for breaking into 24 businesses over the summer and once escaping police in a chase, authorities said. Aaron Sukhdeo was arrested Monday, March 26 after being released from the Bergen County Jail where he was being held on a separate charge, Bergenfield Police Captain Mustafa Rabboh said. He was then charged with 19 counts of burglary, 24 counts of criminal attempt to commit burglary and numerous counts of possession of burglary tools and theft, one count of obstruction of justice and resisting arrest, Rabboh said. …
