A repeat offender who hopped into a waiting Uber after snatching a man's wallet from the bar at a Paramus restaurant was already using the victim's credit cards as police interviewed him, authorities said. Turned out to be a huge break. Paramus Mall Shoplifting Becomes Robbery When Female Employee Is Thrown To Floor
A shoplifter threw an employee at the Nieman Marcus store in Paramus to the floor after she caught him stealing more than $1,000 worth of clothing, authorities said. Jimmy Sattan, 31, of Jersey City was chased down and captured by Paramus Police Officer Michael Mordaga in the Garden State Plaza parking lot moments after the 8 p.m. robbery on June 5, Police Chief Robert M. Guidetti said. Sattan was leaving the store with $1,148 worth of hidden Fendi sweat pants, sweatshirts and jeans when the employee tried stopping him, the chief said. Police responding to a report of a man who pulled a pistol during a dispute at a Paramus mall grabbed two fleeing Brooklyn residents with a stolen handgun, authorities said. The gunman and a companion fled following the Christmas Eve confrontation outside the Louis Vuitton store at the Garden State Plaza, Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said.
