Erratic Dumont Porsche Driver Found With Loaded Rifle, Ammo In New Milford, Police Say
A 47-year-old Porsche driver was found with military-style ammunition and a loaded AR-style rifle during a routine traffic stop in Bergen County this week, police said.
New Milford Police Officer Dennis Calacione was called to Madison Avenue for an erratic Porsche Cayenne driver Monday, Sept. 23 around 10:40 a.m., Police Chief Brian Clancy said.
The officer found the grey vehicle in the parking lot of New Milford Liquors, where he made contact with the driver, Christopher J. Swift, of Dumont, Clancy said.

New Milford police nabbed a member of a burglary crew who broke into a local home and stole $55,000 in cash, jewelry, two safes and an assault rifle, authorities said.
Jhon A. Torres Galindo, a 31-year-old Colombian national living in Brooklyn, was arrested by New Milford Police Lt. Nelson Perez and Detective Samuel Gerais following an intensive investigation, Capt. Kevin Van Saders said.
Interviews, surveillance video and warrants all contributed to identifying and finding him, the captain said.

An ex-con with a history of making threats used racial slurs in alarming calls to a New Milford school, followed by 26 similar calls to borough police, authorities charged.
The first call by Sean Michael Persons, 39, of Hackensack last week was “threatening, offensive and had racial rhetoric,” alarming school administrators, Police Capt. Kevin Van Saders said.

Three Bergen County robbers severely beat a young Emerson man, taking a pair of $600 sneakers and a vape cartridge, in a violent pre-planned attack, authorities charged.
Bergenfield residents Jacob Inglis, 19, and Colin Murphy, 18, and Cameron Schneid, 20, of New Milford were each seized at their homes early Wednesday, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella confirmed.

New Milford PD: Knives, Crack Found During Stop, Passaic County Couple Busted
A New Milford police stop turned up knives, crack and outstanding warrants on both the driver and passenger, authorities said.
Offficer Nick Williams and backup Officer Andy Lignos found the warrants on the Passaic County couple -- Maria Mezerenez, 35, and her passenger, ex-con Benjamin Quirindongo, 38, during the late-night Saturday stop, Police Chief Brian Clancy said.

A train struck and killed a man on the tracks in Oradell at the River Edge border Wednesday night, responders said.
