Man Killed In Second Hit-Run In 24 Hours For Bergen County: Prosecutor
A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run accident in Bergen County on Friday night, Oct 11 — the county's second fatal hit-and-run involving a pedestrian in 24 hours. The man was struck on Godwin Avenue near Witte Drive in Midland Park just before 7:10 p.m., Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. He was rushed to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center with serious injuries where he was ultimately pronounced dead. Pedestrian, 57, Struck, Injured Crossing Street In Midland Park
A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a car crossing a street in Midland Park. The 57-year-old man was in the crosswalk on Paterson Avenue at Goffle Road when he was struck around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, Midland Park Police Chief Michael Powderley said. The driver remained at the scene and was given a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian, the chief said. The pedestrian was taken to the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with pains in his ribs and a cut on his face, responders said.

A Midland Park man could consider himself fortunate after a vehicle fell on him while he was changing a tire, authorities said. The jack "may not have been placed in the strongest locations to hold the weight of the car," borough Police Chief Michael Powderley said after the 58-year-old resident was injured on Erie Avenue shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday, March 19. Midland Park Officer Injured Subduing Angered Suspect
A Midland Park police officer required hospital treatment after a disturbed man bit him and hit him with a metal laundry basket, authorities said. The officer and his colleagues were trying to speak with Richard Harris, 30, when he became violent, Police Chief Michael Powderley said. Harris then took off running and was grabbed outside Park Laudromat on Godwin Avenue, the chief said. SEE ANYTHING? A Midland Park business owner was robbed by two masked men who sped from the local shopping center with his luxury sedan, authorities said. The armed bandits accosted the merchant outside his shop on Godwin Avenue across from the Midland Park/King's shopping center around 7 a.m., they said.
