Snow Drought: Here Are Next Chances For White Stuff In Northeast
Pockets of light snow fell in parts of the region to start off the weekend on Saturday morning, Jan. 14. Some areas saw a light coating forming on the grass and reduced visibility on roadways. Potential Blockbuster Snowstorm Could Be On Track For Region
A potential blockbuster storm system on track to sweep through the Northeast could bring significant snowfall to the region. Current predictions show the potential for snowfall at times throughout the day on Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday. There's still uncertainty about the storm's track and strength, and it's too early to predict possible snowfall amounts. Winter Weather Advisory: Here's When 'Multi-Hazard' Major System Will Arrive, Wrap Up
A major storm the National Weather Service is calling a "multi-hazard" is closing in on this region and the entire Northeast. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from Saturday at 4 p.m. until 10 a.m. Sunday for North Jersey and surrounding areas. Mixed precipitation is expected (see second image above) with a total accumulation of 2 to 4 inches of snowfall for most of the area.
