Sundown Swimmers At Unguarded NJ Beach Rescued
Three swimmers were rescued while in the water after sunset in Ocean Grove, officials said. Rescuers were called to a swimmer in distress near the pier at the Main Avenue beach at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, the ANSWER team said in a Facebook post. The report was quickly upgraded to three swimmers in distress. When emergency crews arrived, they saw the three swimmers screaming for help. Several Shark Sightings Reported Near Cape May's Coast
Several sharks have been spotted off the coast of Cape May in recent weeks, according to reports. A shark was spotted near the beach in Cape May Point at around 3 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 5, 6abc Action News reported. One beachgoer said the shark was about six feet long. The sighting caused swimmers to run onto the shore and lifeguards kept people out of the water for about a half hour, according to Wildwood Video Archive. Girl, 13, Pulled From Maywood Pool
A 13-year-old girl was pulled from the municipal pool in Maywood on Labor Day, police said. A lifeguard quickly got to the drowning teen, witnesses said. The good news: She was alert and conscious when EMS took her to Hackensack University Medical Center, Maywood Police Detective Sgt. William Phayre said.

Boy, 6, Drowns In Wildwood Hotel Pool
A 6-year-old boy drowned in a Wildwood hotel pool over the Fourth of July weekend. Police responded to Beachside Resort on Atlantic Avenue for a possible drowning with CPR in progress around 6:30 p.m. July 3, the Wildwood police and fire departments said in a joint police. One police officer and firefighters resumed life-saving efforts on the boy, before he was taken to Cape Regional Medical Center. 15-Year-Old Swimmer Missing On Jersey Shore
The search for a 15-year-old boy who was swept away Sunday while swimming with his sister on the Jersey Shore has been postponed until Monday morning, authorities said. Josiah Jeremiah Robison of Ewing and his sister appeared to have been caught up in a rip current while in Brighton Avenue Beach near Newark and Ocean avenues around 2:45 p.m., Spring Lake Police Chief Edward Kerr said. Drowning Swimmer Revived At Hackensack High-Rise Pool
A lifeguard pulled a drowning man from a pool at a Hackensack high-rise Saturday afternoon, authorities said. The lifeguard at the Prospect Place Apartments on Prospect Avenue began CPR, and got a pulse, before responding city police officers took over, Lt. James Smith said. The victim was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center following the 4 p.m. call, he said.
