UPDATE: No serious injuries were reported in a raging fire that destroyed an apartment building near the George Washington Bridge. Two volunteer firefighters were hospitalized with relatively minor injuries from the six-alarm fire on Hudson Terrace in Fort Lee, which ignited Saturday afternoon, continued through the night and collapsed portions of the five-story brick building. Harlem Medical Assistant Charged In Fort Lee Hit-Run That Seriously Injured Pedestrian, 23
A medical assistant from Harlem sped off after she struck and seriously injured a man with her car in broad daylight near the George Washington Bridge in Fort Lee last month, said authorities who arrested and charged her. Fatou Diaby, 25, stopped at first and got out of her Honda Accord after she hit the 23-year-old victim at the intersection of Hudson Terrace and Myrtle Avenue shortly before 12:30 p.m. June 8, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said Monday. Cross-County Stolen Car Chase From Mahwah Through Paramus Ends With Haworth Crash, Arrest
A pre-dawn cross-county pursuit Monday through nearly a dozen towns began in Mahwah, continued through Paramus and ended on a Haworth dead end street when the driver bailed out while the stolen car was moving. The 2014 Honda Accord slammed into a fire hydrant after grazing a cruiser driven by a Haworth police sergeant, who seized the passenger – a self-proclaimed gang member from Newark. The driver fled.
