The community is coming together in support of North Jersey parents who lost their 15-month-old son Devon suddenly on Saturday. More than $4,100 had been raised for Sean and Jill Williams on a GoFundMe launched by Robin DeLorenzo as of Monday morning. Sean, a West Orange native and Montclair High School graduate, and his wife Jill, formerly of Cedar Grove, own Solstice Cafe in Hopatcong. Feds Charge Tri-State Area Tour Company Founder With Trafficking Child Porn
The North Jersey founder of a nature tour company operating from the Jersey Shore north to Poughkeepsie and southern Connecticut was arrested by federal Homeland Security agents on charges of trafficking child porn. Vaughn Tiedeman, 46, of Living Adventure Tours, was ordered held without bail by a federal judge in Newark Monday afternoon on a charge of distributing child pornography. UPDATE: A search-and-rescue team that numbered in the dozens on Saturday found a 34-year-old Hopatcong man whose wife reported him missing the night before. Kevin Fawthrop was hospitalized for hypothermia after members of the Ramapo Search and Rescue Team and co-workers from Blue Diamond Waste Removal found him in a heavily wooded area about a mile and a half from his home, responders said. Cleaning Service Worker Stole $1,105 From 3 Glen Rock Homes, Possibly Others, Police Say
A cleaning service employee altered and cashed $1,105 worth of checks stolen from three different Glen Rock homes, said police who suspect similar thefts in other towns. Detective Lucas Doney identified and busted 39-year-old Monica Gonzalez of Hopatcong after the cleaning service owner told police that she “suspected one of her employees of stealing checks from clients’ homes,” Police Chief Dean Ackermann said Monday. Oradell Ex-Con Admits Robbing Mahwah, Edgewater Banks, More
An Oradell man admitted in federal court Wednesday that he robbed banks in Edgewater and Mahwah – one of them with help from his girlfriend -- as well as an out-of-area bank, gas station and liquor store. Joel Robbins, a 47-year-old Tenafly native, was caught after he pointed a fake gun at two tellers at a TD Bank on Route 17 in Mahwah on Dec. 3 and demanded money, warning them not to “make me have to kill you,” authorities said.
