Multiple motor vehicle crashes early Monday, Nov. 11, created traffic delays for drivers along Route 17 in Bergen County. According to incident reporter Boyd A. Loving, a series of crashes on both the northbound and southbound lanes led to backups and lane closures, as emergency crews worked to clear the roadway. On the northbound side, several collisions occurred just north of East Prospect Street. Sedan Struck By Train In Bergen County
A Nissan sedan was struck by a New Jersey Transit train Thursday morning, Sept. 19 in Ho-Ho-Kus. Train 1110 on the Main-Bergen County line was briefly delayed following the crash just before 10:15 a.m. at the Hollywood Avenue crossing, which left the sedan severely damaged, according to incident reporter Boyd A. Loving and an NJ Transit spokesperson. MBPJ train #1110, the 11:06 AM arrival into Hoboken, is currently delayed due to striking a motor vehicle near Hohokus. Driver Hospitalized After SUV Narrowly Misses Bus Shelter, Slams Into Tree On Route 17
A driver was hospitalized with chest pains following a pre-dawn single-vehicle crash Friday on rain-soaked Route 17. The SUV narrowly missed taking out a bus shelter but ran over a sign and then slammed into a tree on the highway's southbound side just past Hollywood Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus shortly before 6:30 a.m. Oct. 20. SUV Mounts Route 17 Guardrail
Ho-Ho-Kus firefighters wedged wooden blocks behind a back tire of an SUV that had mounted a Route 17 guardrail Friday afternoon. A young female driver got out OK and didn't appear injured -- leaving the car tipped in a precarious position -- following the single-vehicle crash on the southbound highway near Hollywood Avenue on Friday afternoon, Feb. 24. The right lane was temporarily closed while the Honda CR-V was righted and removed. Ho-Ho-Kus police were investigating.

Nasty Crash Near Route 17 Sends Two To Hospital
Two people were hospitalized following a crash at a busy Ho-Ho-Kus intersection. The collision at the five corners at Sheridan and Hollywood avenues near Gilbert Road around 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 30 severely damaged an SUV and a wagon. Both victims were taken to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that weren't immediately considered life-threatening. Woman Reported Running On Route 17 Struck, Southbound Highway Closed
UPDATE: A woman was clinging to life Saturday after being struck on southbound Route 17 in Ho-Ho-Kus the night before. Several readers told Daily Voice they'd spotted the 27-year-old woman walking along the highway divider as far south as Route 4 in both Paramus and Fair Lawn sometime before the fateful crash around 6 p.m. Nov. 18. Car Carrier Fire Closes Route 17 Stretch
A car carrier caught fire, temporarily closing northbound Route 17 before dawn Monday. Ho-Ho-Kus firefighters responding to the call on the highway at Hollywood Avenue just after 4:30 a.m. quickly doused the blaze . The fire appeared to have originated in the rear axle and extended to the lift equipment and at least two vehicles on board, they said. A car caught fire after slamming into a tree Thursday morning in Ho-Ho-Kus. The driver of the Nissan Altima was hospitalized with what authorities said were minor injuries following the 8 a.m. crash on Hollywood Avenue off northbound Route 17. Ho-Ho-Kus firefighters were returning from another call when they spotted a flaming Lamborghini Superleggera. Members of Engine 733 quickly doused the blaze at the corner of Hollywood Avenue and Dogwood Lane, but the internationally-lauded sports car -- which can cost upwards of $225,000 or more -- was a total loss. Ho-Ho-Kus Hit-Run Tractor-Trailer Destroys Traffic Light
HO-HO-KUS, N.J. -- Authorities were searching Wednesday morning for a tractor-trailer that destroyed a traffic light at a busy Ho-Ho-Kus intersection. A uniformed officer directed traffic while awaiting a Bergen County Road Department repair crew at the corner of Hollywood Avenue and North Franklin Turnpike. Ho-Ho-Kus Crash Sends Two To Hospital
HO-HO-KUS, N.J. -- Two victims were hospitalized with injuries that didn't appear life-threatening after a crash late Friday afternoon in Ho-Ho-Kus. Both were taken to The Valley Hospital after the collision at Hollywood Avenue and North Franklin Turnpike.
