New Ice Cream Spot Coming To Bergen County
Just in time for summer, Bergen County is getting another ice cream spot. Bruster's Real Ice Cream will be opening in Westwood early this summer, a spokesperson for the company confirmed. This will be New Jersey's second Bruster's store, the other in Washington Township (Gloucester County). The company was founded in 1989 by Bruce Reed (who puts the "Bruce" in Buster's). Pedestrian Killed In Jersey Shore Crosswalk Was Guyanese Swimmer
A 34-year-old swimmer visiting from Guyana — or the "Land of Many Waters" — was struck and killed by a vehicle while in a crosswalk in Freehold Township, authorities said. Robert Taylor was struck by a southbound driver on Route 9 at Schibanoff Lane on Monday, Jan. 9 around 7 a.m., according to authorities and those who knew Taylor. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. Taylor was a mentor with the Guyana Amateur Swimming Association. International Fugitive Wanted In Five-Kilo Cocaine Importing Ring Seized At Newark Airport
An international fugitive wanted for having couriers smuggle more than five kilos of cocaine into the U.S. on a cruise ship was seized at Newark Airport after a decade on the run, federal authorities announced. A federal magistrate judge ordered that Dennis "Death" Edwards, a 38-year-old Guyanese national, remain held without bail following a brief hearing in Newark on Tuesday, Nov. 15.
