List: Bankrupt GNC Closing 248 Stores, Including 20 In NJ, NY GNC on Wednesday released a list of stores that the company is closing in New Jersey and New York as part of its filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. The retailer, which had 5,200 stores in the U.S. and 7,300 worldwide at the end of March, said it expects to close anywhere from 800 to 1,200 of them, beginning with those listed below. Toys 'R' Us May Close Another 200 Stores, Report Says Less than a month after announcing it planned to close 182 outlets, another 200 Toys 'R' Us stores may also be closing, according to a report in The Wall Street Journal on Thursday. The total of near 400 closures would be 45 percent of the toy retailer's total number of stores. Toys 'R' Us also reversed plans to offer severance packages to all affected employees, The Wall Street Journal reported. The locations of the 200 stores were not available.
