Clifton Stolen Car Chase Ends In Newark Crash A stolen car pursuit that began in Clifton ended with a crash in Newark and three occupants in the wind, authorities said. Clifton Police Officer Matthew Rugel was in the area of Broad Street and Elmwood Drive when he spotted the 2020 Audi, which had been reported stolen out of Hazlet and connected to subsequent crimes, shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 2. Rugel tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver sped off through the streets of Clifton and eventually onto eastbound Route 3, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said. Police Looking For Shooter Who Grazed 6-Year-Old In Newark The Newark Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in finding a man suspected of a shooting that left two people injured, including a young child who was grazed by a bullet.  Authorities released a photo array of a man who may have opened fire Friday during a fight with another man outside The Waterfront recreation center on Grafton Avenue. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.  The child, a six-year-old girl, was grazed by one of the bullets fired during the dispute. Girl, 6, Grazed By Bullet In Newark Shooting: Report A young child and another person were struck by gunfire in Newark Friday afternoon, WABC 7 reported.  The 6-year-old girl was grazed in the kneecap in the shooting, which occurred around 4 p.m. at Grafton Avenue and Riverside Court. A male victim was hit in the leg.  The injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, authorities said.
