Loaded Guns, Pot, Mushrooms Lead To Arrests Of North Bergen Men Following Fairview PD Stop
A Fairview police officer found a North Bergen ex-con and a companion with 22 pounds of pot, six pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, two loaded guns and more during a traffic stop, authorities said.
Officer Sebastian Castano immediately caught a whiff of both raw and burnt marijuana from inside the 2019 Mercedes Benz with New York plates that he stopped on Bergen Boulevard at Cliff Street, Capt. Michael Martic said.
Several large zip-locking bags of pot were scattered in plain view on the floor of the rear seat, the captain said.

Fairview Officers Nab Pre-Dawn Burglary Trio At Major Area Truck Dealer
A trio of Fairview police officers nabbed three burglars as they tried to flee the lot of one of the area’s largest truck dealers.
Officers Ralph Guastella, CJ Turro, and Diego Porras caught one on the south side of Beyer Brothers on Broad Avenue, another who was tossing stolen items as he ran on the north side and the third waiting in a getaway car nearby after an alarm company notified police at 4:50 a.m. Friday, Police Chief Martin Kahn said.

Watch: SUV Rolls In Fairview DWI Crash
Police charged a Fairview driver with DWI after her Cadillac SUV struck a parked car and rolled over before dawn Thursday.
The 2019 XT4 struck a parked car on Anderson Avenue at DeSoto Place, near Fairvew police headquarters, at 1:49 a.m., Chief Martin Kahn said.
The struck car got slammed into another, while the SUV driven by Blanca Perez, 29, rolled and landed on its wheels, he said.
Perez, whose breath smelled of alcohol, said she wasn't injured, but EMTs insisted she be checked out at Hackensack University Medical Center, Kahn said.

Authorities: Armed Ex-Con Seized In Fairview Pizzeria
FAIRVIEW, N.J. -- Fairview police nabbed an ex-con who they said was carrying a handgun in a local pizzeria.
Officers George Alexiou and Geremia DeMartino, responding to an anonymous tip at Luigi's Restaurant early Sunday evening, found Josue "Sway" Correa, 30, with a bulge in his waistband and part of the gun sticking out from under his sweatshirt, Police Chief Martin Kahn said.
They immediately seized him and the gun, Kahn said.
The silver-topped, black plastic-handled Glock-design handgun had a defaced serial number and was loaded with starter-pistol ammo, he said.
