Nighttime Fair Lawn House Fire Doused
UPDATE: Fair Lawn firefighters quickly contained a Sunday night house blaze that they said nonetheless did significant damage. No injuries were reported in the smoky fire, which broke out in the 30 block of Heywood Avenue near Greenwood Drive shortly after 9:30 p.m. Dec. 4. It was declared under control a little over a half-hour later without the need for mutual aid, responders at the scene said. Firefighters Douse Fair Lawn House Blaze
Firefighters quickly stopped a Wednesday afternoon blaze from doing serious damage to the interior of a Fair Lawn home. The two-alarm fire severely damaged the front of the 32nd Street residence just off southbound Route 208. Pig Succumbs To Injuries From Fair Lawn Fire
A pig had to be euthanized following a pen fire in Fair Lawn, authorities said. A neighbor doused the flames that broke out behind a Saddle River Road home around 6:30 p.m. Monday, March 7, police Sgt. Brian Metzler said. The Bergen County SPCA arranged for Van Saun Park Zoo personnel to take the pig to the Westwood Regional Veterinary Hospital, he said. The Fair Lawn Fire Prevention Bureau was investigating the cause of the fire.

Fair Lawn Firefighters Douse Blaze At Auto Repair Shop
Fire damaged a Fair Lawn auto repair shop on Saturday. Firefighters “quickly stretched hose into the building and got the fire knocked down” after it broke out at Prestige Autowerks on Fair Lawn Avenue at Third Street shortly after 6 p.m., Fire Chief Thomas Carney said. Carney declared the two-alarm blaze under control within a half-hour. No one was injured, he said.
