Uniform-Clad Martial Arts Instructor With 'Swords' Seen Near Fair Lawn School, Police Called
A martial arts instructor caused a bit of a stir in Fair Lawn on Wednesday when she was spotted in uniform near an elementary school carrying what turned out to be a pair of harmless swords, authorities confirmed. Police responded to a call near the Thomas Edison School on Fair Lawn Avenue at 10:15 a.m. Aug. 23 and found the 60-something woman, who apparently spoke little or no English. Driver Hospitalized In Route 208 Crash
A driver was hospitalized with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening after rolling a sedan Wednesday afternoon on Route 208 in Fair Lawn. The northbound highway was jammed after the Subaru Legacy landed on its driver's side under the Fair Lawn Avenue overpass shortly after 3 p.m. July 26. Trespassing Pair Get Summonses After Stopping Rush-Hour Commuter Train In Fair Lawn
Two trespassers loitering on the railroad tracks in Fair Lawn forced a commuter train to stop during rush hour when it hit a backpack that one of them was carrying, authorities said. "They're lucky they only got away with summonses," an official source said following the incident at the Fair Lawn Avenue crossing near the Radburn station shortly before 6 p.m. Friday, June 16.
