Former Lyndhurst HS Football Captain Nick Cimicata Dies, 20
Former Lyndhurst High School Varsity Football Captain Nick Cimicata died on Thursday, March 16. He was 20 years old. Nick played basketball and football at Lyndhurst High School (Class of 2021), where he was also the vice president of Future Business Leaders of America, his obituary says. Affectionately known as "Nicky Blue," he also served as the coach of Savino's in the township's Little League program, and as a 10U travel coach. NJ Native Who Overcame Great Challenges Dead In Iowa State University Rowing Accident
A 20-year-old New Jersey native who overcame great challenges at a young age was among two Iowa State University students who drowned this week in a rowing accident. Yaakov Ben-David, formerly of Lakewood, and freshman Derek Nanni, 19, died when the crew skull they were in capsized during practice last Sunday. Ben-David's body was flown to New Jersey Tuesday, and services were held the following morning at the Lakewood Bais Hakvaros. Ridgewood College Student Amanda Aujero Dies Suddenly
Amanda Aujero of Ridgewood died suddenly on Nov. 7. She was 19 years old. More than $2,700 had been raised on a GoFundMe for her family as of Thursday evening. Aujero was a sophomore criminal justice major at the University of Stockton, where she made Dean’s List every semester she was there.
