Victim Killed In Head-On Route 23 Crash Had Moved To NJ Seeking Better Life: Campaign
Authorities have released the identity of the person killed in a crash on Route 23 earlier this week. Hamid Shabuddin, 55, of Paterson was a passenger in a 2005 Toyota Camry that collided head-on with a 2021 Ford F-150 at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15 in the northbound lanes in Riverdale, a spokesperson for the prosecutor's office said. Shabbudin was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the Camry was taken to a hospital. Morris County Man Struck, Killed By Car In West Milford
A 73-year-old man was struck and killed by a car early Tuesday, Sept. 10 in West Milford, authorities said. Mod A. Khader, of Lincoln Park, was trying to cross Route 23 south when he was struck by a vehicle around 6 a.m., Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes West Milford Police Chief James DeVore said. Khader was taken to Chilton Hospital where he died at 8:40 a.m. The vehicle that struck Khader remained at the scene and the investigation remains ongoing.

A bedridden West Milford woman's home had quickly begun filling with smoke after her dog accidentally ignited a fire on her kitchen stove. "This was close to being a fatal," one responder said. It wasn't, authorities said, because four neighborhood youngsters who heard alarms quickly ran to get help. A Wayne police officer amazingly survived without serious injuries after an out-of-control Jeep skidded off Route 23, went airborne and crashed into her cruiser, authorities said. UPDATE: A Hawthorne man who fell into the Monksville Reservoir in Ringwood while apparently ice fishing Friday afternoon died a short time later, authorities said. Robert R. West Milford PD: Female Fare Bites 70-Year-Old Uber Driver, Jumps From Moving Car
A 70-year-old Uber driver was bitten and beaten by a customer who then jumped from the moving vehicle, West Milford police said. The victim was treated for injuries to his nose, face and hands, as well as others, after the incident on Clinton Road, according to a police report. Police nabbed 38-year-old Dale Sansone of West Milford a short distance away, the report says, adding that she was “found to be highly intoxicated, belligerent and uncooperative.” Sansone was taken to Chilton Hospital for injuries she sustained jumping from the car, the report says. Boiler Room Accident Injures Worker, Clears Lakeland Regional HS
A boiler room accident Thursday morning injured an electrician and cleared Lakeland Regional High School in Wanaque. The 57-year-old worker arced a wire, causing a breaker to blow, around 8:10 a.m, Wanaque Police Capt. Kenneth Farina said. Contrary to other media reports, there wasn’t an explosion, Farina emphasized. The electrician was taken to Chilton Hospital with minor cuts and burns and students and staff returned to the building, Farina said. Lakeland Regional serves students from Ringwood and Wanaque.

WAYNE, N.J. – A Wayne police officer pulled a woman through the window of her burning home, saving her life, authorities said. Her frightened husband yelled to Officers Rick Vanderclock and Eric Caffrey that she was still inside the Beechwood Drive house when they arrived at 3:20 a.m. Monday to find the front of the house "fully engulfed in flames" after a seies of explosions, Detective Capt.
