Bystanders In Fair Lawn Hold Down Driver Who Tried To Run From Head-On Crash
Bystanders grabbed a driver after he tried to run from a crash in Fair Lawn, authorities said. Carlton Wallace, 53, Pennsauken was headed east on Lincoln Avenue when his Chevy Impala struck a telephone pole and he veered into oncoming traffic, hitting another vehicle, late last week, Fair Lawn Police Sgt. Tinted windows, bogus plates, no registration or insurance -- one of the only things that could've made a Paramus police traffic stop worse for an out-of-state driver was having drugs or a gun in the car. Turns out he had both, they said. Officer Cesar Hurtado was on patrol on westbound Route 4 shortly before 1:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, when he spotted the 2004 Toyota Camry with "extremely blacked out" windows, Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said. Driver, 34, Killed In Fiery Garden State Parkway Crash
A 34-year-old North Jersey man was killed in a fiery crash on the Garden State Parkway in Monmouth County, State Police said. Fabrice Deryce, of Scotch Plains, was heading south in a Chevy Impala when he struck multiple fixed objects around 11:45 p.m. Saturday in Tinton Falls, NJSP Sgt. Philip Curry said. The vehicle then entered the grass median that separates the local and express lanes, and struck a concrete cantilever overhead sign support. Paterson Driver Caught With Loaded Gun, Machete, Police Say
A driver who falsely claimed to be a Paterson public school counselor was caught carrying a loaded gun and a machete after parking illegally, city authorities said. Detectives noticed the improperly parked Chevy Impala with an expired license plate number outside a soul food restaurant at 10th Avenue and 23rd Street shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday, Police Director Jerry Speziale said. Driver Killed In Route 23 Rollover Crash
A Brooklyn woman was killed Wednesday in a rollover crash on Route 23 in West Milford, authorities confirmed. Rebecca McMahon Adelman, 36, was driving a 2019 Chevy Impala that collided with a 2003 Ford Explorer driven by a 27-year-old Bloomingdale woman at the intersection of Route 23 and Canistear Road shortly before 12:30 p.m. McMahon Adelman was extricated from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, responders said. Woman Killed, 6-Year-Old Boy Critically Injured Crossing Wayne Road
WAYNE, N.J. -- A woman was dead and a 6-year-old boy in surgery after they were struck Tuesday night while crossing the same Wayne road where another woman was killed a day earlier. The pair were crossing Valley Road at Birchwood Terrace around 7 p.m. when they were struck by a four-door Chevy Impala, authorities said.
