An 81-year-old driver from Cresskill was pronounced dead at the scene after her car struck a utility pole Monday morning in Tenafly, said police who are seeking witnesses. East Clinton Avenue was closed for more than an hour and a half after the victim's Ford Focus, which was headed toward Route 9W, crashed near Buckingham Road around 8 a.m. Nov. 27, Tenafly Police Lt. Tenafly Firefighters Free Worker In Home Construction Site Fall
A 55-year-old worker was hospitalized in a 10-foot fall Thursday morning at a Tenafly home construction site. Firefighters got the Newark worker out after he fell into the basement area of a new foundation, with no way out, at the Buckingham Road site just before 9 a.m., police Capt. Michael deMoncada said. The Tenafly Volunteer Ambulance Corps took him to Hackensack University Medical Center with head and shoulder injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, Moncada said. OSHA was notified.

Tenafly Police: Officers Break Window To Remove Resisting DWI Driver From Car
Tenafly officers had to break a window to get an argumentative – and suspended -- drunk driver out of his car after it swerved toward oncoming traffic, authorities said Wednesday. Officer Maxwell Werner was following the Toyota sedan when it swerved into the opposite lane on East Clinton Avenue near Buckingham Road just after 1 a.m. Saturday, Capt. Michael deMoncada said. The driver, 26-year-old Manolo Morales of Ramapo, “was argumentative and refused to provide his identification and vehicle documents” after Werner pulled him over, deMoncada said.
