Youth Gang Seized Following Vandalism In Hasbrouck Heights Park
A group of bicycle-riding juveniles were corraled by police after they vandalized a Hasbrouck Heights park, responders said. A resident called police to report parts of the gazebo at the Terrace Avenue Park near Cleveland Avenue spray-painted and broken off around 7 p.m. Thursday, May 25. A detective tried stopping eight of the juveniles on Henry Street a short time later, but they resisted, responders said. SUVs Collide, Topple Traffic Light In Midland Park
A driver was hospitalized after two SUVs collided at a Midland Park intersection, taking out a traffic light in the process. A Chevy Tahoe slammed into the light pole in the collision with a Dodge Durango at the corner of Erie and Franklin avenues around 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8. The Midland Park Ambulance Corps took the female driver of the Toyota to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening. Van Towed After Ho-Ho-Kus Crash
A driver escaped injury Friday morning when his van barreled off the road and into a wooded area in Ho-Ho-Kus. The Hawthorne drywall contractor's vehicle crashed on Werimus Road off Deerhill Road near a southbound exit from the Garden State Parkway. Citywide Towing removed the van with a flatbed. Deer Rescued From Demarest Storm Drain
It was a team effort as responders rescued a deer from a storm drain in Demarest. Police who responded to several calls summoned borough DPW workers and both Demarest and Haworth firefighters to County Road and Eastview Terrace shortly before 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4. The deer was safely removed and then examined by an animal control officer before being released.
