North Jersey Firefighter Jordan Darley Dies Suddenly Leaving Behind Wife, New Baby
Support was surging for the wife and child of Passaic firefighter Jordan Darley who died suddenly in November 2022.
Darley, 40, died on Nov. 12 after going into cardiac arrest, according to a GoFundMe page launched for his wife, Lucia, and baby, Jordan.
The Bloomfield resident owned his own HVAC company in Nutley, and was proud to have become a firefighter, accomplishing a lifelong dream, his obituary says.

Armed Robber Admits Role In Multiple Liquor, Convenience Store Holdups In NJ, NY
UPDATE: A member of a New Jersey-based armed robbery crew copped to holding up five liquor and convenience stores in two states, federal authorities said.
Jaime Fontanez, 45, of Elizabeth and two accomplices went on a six-month armed robbery spree beginning in August 2018, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.
Federal authorities tied the crew to 13 holdups in all in Essex, Union and Middlesex counties, as well as in the Bronx and upstate New York, the U.S. attorney said.

A driver who was stopped by Clifton police with bullet holes in his windshield hit the gas and sped off -- nearly hitting two officers -- before crashing in Glen Ridge during the subsequent pursuit, authorities said.
Officers stopped the 2017 Mercedes E300 on Allwood Road near Clifton Avenue around 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said.

Pair Wanted For Using Stolen Car In Newark Shooting: Police
Authorities in Newark are seeking two women in connection with a stolen car used in a September shooting, they said.
The fingerprints of Quanazia Bennett, 21, of Newark, and Kelly Devereaux, 24, of Bloomfield, were recovered from the car used in the Sept. 20 incident at 18th Avenue and Hunterdon Street around midnight, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé said. A warrant was issued for their arrest on Oct. 6.

Local Grocer To Open Pair Of 16,000-Square-Foot Stores In North Jersey: Report
A local grocer is planning a North Jersey expansion with two stores in the works for next year, NorthJersey.com reports.
SuperFresh, located in Bloomfield, will expand with a pair of 16,000-square-foot stores on Lexington Avenue in Clifton and Van Houten Avenue in Passaic, the outlet said citing owner Kevin Kim.
The markets will boast a large selection of fresh fish, meats, bakery, sushi, flowers, dairy and more, Kim said. The Clifton store is set to open in Spring 2023 and the Passaic store in Fall 2023, NorthJersey.com reports.
