Transformer, Live Wires Fall On Vehicle Sparking Blaze In Bergenfield
Firefighters in Bergenfield worked to put out a fire caused by high tension wires and transformers from a utility pole that had fallen on a vehicle Wednesday evening, Aug. 14. It happened on North Washington Avenue and West Church Street, where PSE&G was called to the scene to turn off the power. At the scene. Bergenfield Fire Department The occupants of the vehicle were able to escape before flames consumed the car. Firefighters knocked down the blaze, with help from a Teaneck ladder and engine company from Dumont.

Firefighters Contain Vehicle Blaze To Garage Of Bergenfield Home
Firefighters contained a Bergenfield car blaze that severely damaged an attached garage Sunday night. The Bogert Place call was quickly upgraded to a second alarm on arrival around 7 p.m., responders said. Firefighters made quick work of it, containing the flames to the garage. The sedan was totaled. A tow truck was called to remove it. Mutual aid responders included firefighters from Dumont, Englewood, New Milford, Teaneck and Tenafly. Two cats and a dog died in a pre-Christmas fire that severely damaged a Bergenfield home. Firefighters who responded within three minutes were met by flames on the first floor of the 2½-story Lunn Avenue home shortly after 1 p.m., Bergenfield Fire Chief Edward J Kneisler III said. : Construction Worker Rescued After Falling 15 Feet Into Bergenfield Trench
A construction worker from Elizabeth was rescued Tuesday after he fell 15 feet into a job site trench in Bergenfield, authorities said. Bergenfield firefighters, assisted by their colleagues from Hackensack, hoisted the 39-year worker up from the foundation of the South Prospect Street site after he lost his balance and fell in shortly before 1:30 p.m., Detective Lt. Willam Duran said. He was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with a severe leg injury, Duran said.

Dumont firefighters made quick work of an overnight basement fire Thursday that sent smoke through a home. Smoke alarms roused residents, who all fled the 2½ -story Virginia Avenue home safely, authorities said. Firefighters responding to the blaze shortly before 2 a.m. got in through a side door and had the bulk of it knocked down in roughly 15 minutes. Fire Ravages Clutter-Filled Teaneck Home
Flames roared through the upper-floor windows of a Teaneck home that responders said was filled with clutter. No injuries were reported in the two-alarm Beverly Road blaze, which broke out around 10:30 p.m. Friday amid what responders said were hoarding conditions. Hackensack and Englewood firefighters joined their Teaneck colleagues at the scene, while those from Bergenfield, Bogota and Ridgefield Park covered the township. TEANECK, N.J. -- Authorities Sunday afternoon found the bodies of an elderly Teaneck couple killed when a fire roared through their home hours earlier, multiple law enforcement sources told Daily Voice.
