Police are warning residents after a driver reportedly tried to get a child inside of his vehicle one night this week in Bergen County. Little Ferry police said that the 11-year-old boy was walking to a friend's house when the driver of a white van pulled up next to him on Lakeview Avenue and Grand Street around 7:20 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9. The van pulled up next to him and the driver said, "Get in the van," according to police. The boy ran home as the van sped away, police said. A 26-year-old man from South Jersey has been arrested for trying to lure and kidnapping a teenage girl who was actually an undercover detective online, authorities said. Francis Frobose, 26, of Hamilton, was charged with second-degree attempted kidnapping, second-degree attempted luring, second-degree attempted sexual assault and third-degree attempted endangering the welfare of a child, according to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. A 41-year-old New Jersey man was in custody after trying to kidnap a female pedestrian at gunpoint with a replica handgun earlier this week, authorities said. Gary Prichard, of New Brunswick, drove up to the victim walking on Easton Avenue and drew what appeared to be a handgun while demanded she get into the vehicle around 11:30 p.m. Jan. 25, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said. A Wayne man found to be intoxicated is facing federal charges after he pulled an air pellet gun and rope on a couple he was chatting with while swimming in the Delaware River -- and then fled, authorities said. A Wayne man wanted for an attempted kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon at the Delaware Water Gap national park was captured in Warren County, authorities said. An off-duty firefighter called police early Monday evening while following a vehicle driven by 57-year-old Jeffrey A. A woman bravely fought off a would-be kidnapper from Passaic County who tried to abduct her younger sister at the Port Authority bus station in midtown Manhattan, police said.
