Palisades Park Police Nab Overnight Vehicle Burglar Thanks To Resident's Quick Call
Palisades Park police said they nabbed a vehicle burglar from the borough early Thursday thanks to a resident’s quick call. Angel Soler, 34, turned out to be wanted on an outstanding warrant, as well, said Capt. Shawn Lee, the officer in charge of the department. The 12:10 a.m. call immediately brought Sgt. Glen Rock Resident Confronts Burglar: One Caught, Another Sought
A Glen Rock resident struggled with a member of a burglary duo he found in his home Sunday night, authorities said. The Fairview Avenue resident recovered a laptop and GPS unit taken by the intruder, who ran off with an accomplice, shortly before 11 p.m., Police Chief Glen Ackermann said. Sgt. Bryan Scott later captured the second suspect, 31-year-old career criminal Angel Soler of Palisades Park, after finding him carrying burglary tools and a hypodermic syringe, the chief said. Palisades Park PD: Duo Charged In Rash Of Smash And Grab Burglaries Used App To Monitor Police
Two ex-cons chased down by Palisades Park police who interrupted a burglary were responsible for at least 10 area smash and grab break-ins in town the past several months -- while using a phone app that allowed them to monitor police transmissions, authorities said. Detective Matthew Aligo was patrolling Commercial Avenue early Friday when he spotted the pair breaking into a business, Police Chief Mark Jackson said.
