Domestic Stabbing: Man Wounded, Woman Sought In Garfield
A Garfield man was hospitalized after being stabbed with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute at his home, authorities confirmed. Officers responding to the Westminster Place residence shortly after 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, found the victim with a one-inch wound on the left side of his ribs, Garfield Police Capt. Mario X. Pozo said. He was alert and communicating while being taken to Hackensack Medical Center in stable condition, the captain said. Closter PD: Bergenfield Ex-Con In Domestic Assault Threatens To Hunt Down, Kill Police
A Bergenfield ex-con with a history of arrests in no fewer than a dozen Bergen County towns assaulted a woman, damaged a Closter police car and threatened to kill the arresting officers, authorities said Tuesday. David Fusco, 36, got out of his car and began yelling and cursing at officers responding to an assault call at the Closter Nature Center, calling them “pigs,” Detective Lt. Vincent Aiello said. Symposium Seeks To Show Bergen Domestic Violence Victims Way To Safety
Because some victims of domestic violence in Bergen County may not be aware of the various resources available, several agencies are uniting this Thursday to help show the way. A free “Domestic Violence Awareness Night” symposium is scheduled from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 24 in the New Milford High School auditorium at Snyder Circle. Garfield Police Give Domestic Violence Victims A Lifeline
GARFIELD, N.J. -- Giving those in need a lifeline, the Garfield Police Community Affairs Division donated 26 cellphones to domestic violence victims. The phones "help these victims feel safe knowing they can call 911 in case of an emergency," said Officer Jeff Stewart of the Community Affairs Division after the presentation was made to Alternatives To Domestic Violence (ADV) in Hackensack.
