: Paterson Officer Charged By State Authorities For Shooting Fleeing Man In Back
"Drop the gun!" a Paterson police officer shouted several times as he chased a fleeing man down a city street before dawn this past June. Suddenly, two shots rang out and unarmed 28-year-old Khalif Cooper fell face down in the street. Officer Jerry Moravek, who fired the shots, handcuffed Cooper, who is heard on police bodycam video telling him, "I don't got no gun." He didn't have one, said New Jersey Attorney General Matthew J. Pedestrian Struck At Busy Intersection Outside Hackensack Park
A 23-year-old pedestrian was struck and injured in a busy Hackensack intersection, authorities said. An Advanced Life Support ambulance was summoned after he was struck by an Acura outside Johnson Park on River and East Anderson streets around 10:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9. The Bergen County Prosecutor's Fatal Accident Investigations Unit was also notified. The victim was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with head trauma. His injuries were later downgraded to non-life-threatening, responders said. Reports that an NJ TRANSIT bus was involved were wrong, authorities said.

Two Seriously Injured In Washington Township Motorcycle Crash
A couple was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash outside a Washington Township strip mall late Saturday afternoon. Responders from Washington Township, Hillsdale and Westwood converged at the Washington Town Center on Pascack Road at the corner of Manhattan Avenue around 4 p.m. after the cycle reportedly collided with another vehicle. Authorities: Mahwah Woman Stabbed Dead, Husband In Custody After Calling Police
UPDATE: Authorities on Tuesday night identified a Mahwah retiree who they said stabbed his wife dead with a kitchen knife after her morning shower. Dieter R. Zimmerman, 73, called police around 7:45 a.m. from the couple's home on Indian Field Court, a townhouse development off Belgrove Drive near the Rockland border, to tell them what happened, authorities said. Body Of Bogota Man Who Jumped From Route 95 Bridge Recovered From Creek In Ridgefield
UPDATE: Responders early Monday afternoon recovered the body of a despondent Bogota man who jumped from the Route 95 bridge in Ridgefield Park. The 60-something man left his home around 5 a.m. following a family dispute, authorities said. New Jersey State Police found his abandoned car on the highway before noon and alerted local authorities.
