IDs Released In Action News NJ Helicopter Crash
Action News has released the names of the pilot and team photographer killed in a helicopter crash Tuesday night, Dec. 19 in New Jersey. Monroe Smith, 67, of Glenside, PA, was the pilot, and Christopher Dougherty, 45, of Oreland, PA, was the photographer, according to the news station. They had departed from the Northeast Philadelphia Airport before 7:30 p.m., in a Eurocopter AS350B2, headed toward Galloway Township, NJ, according to the FAA and 6abc. A college student from Burlington County who was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in Hawaii was cleared to make his big return home via medical chopper on Monday, Feb. 27. Christian DeCola, 19, of Maple Shade, was riding a moped for a food service delivery company when he was hit the night of Feb. 12, his mom, Valerie, tells 6abc. A Philadelphia homicide detective has been arrested on accusations he assaulted a woman wrongfully convicted of murder during an interview in 2010, authorities said. Detective James Pitts assaulted Obina Onyiah — who was exonerated after 11 years — during questioning at the Race Street police headquarters sometime around Nov. 8, 2010, then lying about it, according to Philadelphia police and the DA's office. Villanova University Football Player Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Female Student
A 19-year-old Villanova University football player from Maryland has been charged with attempted sexual assault, reports say. Iyanu Elijah Solomon tried forcing a female student into sexual acts in September 2019, the Delaware County District Attorney's Office told 6abc. The woman reportedly told her resident assistant of the incident two weeks after the alleged incident happened, but decided not to file a police report at the time.
