DUMONT, N.J. — A CEO and mother of three will help Dumont youngsters spend wisely during the holidays.

Tutor’s Link Learning Center and iPiggiBank will host “Money Management for Kids,” a workshop designed for students in the second through fourth grades.

“I’m a mom, living a busy life, but I was overlooking teaching life lessons,” Shara Nadler, the CEO of iPiggiBank, told Daily Voice. "My son was asking me smart questions, but I wasn’t giving smart answers. I couldn’t find a good program.

"So I created this one.”

Instructors use a variety of techniques, including mock shopping sessions, to help children learn to budget wisely.

Nadler has held area courses in Cresskill and Haworth. The sessions range from 90-minute single meetings to eight-week hands-on workshops.

“I think we need to take a big step back and work with the younger kids," she said. "Some teens have learned bad habits, so it’s important to start young.”

The sessions are scheduled on Dec. 5 and Dec. 12 at Tutor’s Link Learning Center in Dumont.

They run from 10 -11:30 a.m. and cost $30 per child. Registration must be completed by Nov. 30.
