Bergenfield High School Presents Holiday Concert Dec. 22

BERGENFIELD, N.J. -- The Music Department of Bergenfield High School will present its annual Holiday Concert featuring the Honors Symphony Orchestra, Honors Vocal Ensemble, and Concert Choir on Tuesday, Dec. 22.

The Honors Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Joseph Dubbiosi, will perform varied seasonal repertoire including Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride” and “A Christmas Festival.” Also on the program are perennial favorites from Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, including the “Chinese Dance” and the “Waltz of the Flowers.” 

The Concert Choir, under the direction of Malcolm Couden, will be featured in a traditional Candlelight Processional. Other choral selections will include “Mary Had a Baby,” and the Hanukkah song, “Ocho Kandelikas.”

The Honors Vocal Ensemble’s selections include a jazz arrangement of “Santa Baby” by Mark Brymer. 

The orchestra and choirs will join forces with the BHS choir alumni for the traditional “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah. 

Tickets may be purchased from Bergenfield High School music students, online, or in person in the high school main office. General admission tickets are $5, and senior citizen or student tickets are $3 each.

Performances will be at 1:15 p.m. and again at 8 p.m. in the Dr. Bernard T. Baggs Auditorium.
