Tully is taking over for Dr. Michael D. Kuchar, who resigned from the position effective Aug. 15, after piloting the district for the past decade.
He will receive an annual salary of $167,500, with his contract from September 2016 through June 2020.
Tully originally served as the district's technology coordinator from from 2002 to 2004 and returned to the district in 2008.
“I am excited to continue to serve our community and be a champion for our children as Superintendent of Schools,” Tully said.
Tully holds a bachelor’s in management from Saint Francis University and a master’s in management information systems from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
In 2012, Tully received an education specialist degree in education leadership, management, and policy from Seton Hall University, and is currently working towards completing his doctorate in the same.
“I have been working with Chris for over ten years," Board President Joseph Amara said.
"He is hard working, diligent, and cares about children. The Board is one hundred percent confident they have made an excellent choice in appointing him as our superintendent," Amara said.
