Winner in celebrity painting contest collects prize

“The most recent memorable song I heard in a store was U2’s ‘Mysterious Ways’ at the Bottle King in Dumont,” wrote Mike Higgins, the winner of CLIFFVIEW PILOT‘s Free Celebrity Painting Contest. This weekend, he picked up his painting from artist Lynn Paret, choosing The Ramones.

We asked readers to tell us the supermarket, grocery store, pharmacy or other public place plays in your neck of the woods that plays the best music to shop by, and what cool song or songs you’ve heard there recently.

Then we chose a winner at random.

It’s all right, it’s all right, it’s all right
She moves in mysterious ways
It’s all right, it’s all right, it’s all right
She moves in mysterious ways
Love
It’s all right, it’s all right, it’s all right
lift my days, light up my nights
Love

The contest was held in conjuction with the 30th annual Hoboken Artists Studio Tour, at which Lynn Paret — an artist and music writer for CLIFFVIEW PILOT — exhibited her work.
