Heather Johnson, 29, of New Milford was released with a court date after officers found her carrying eight bags of heroin during an 8 p.m. stop in the area of Broadway and East 54th Street, Police Chief Michael Foligno said.
Three hours later, 19-year-old Shakail Daring was charged with marijuana possession and issued several motor vehicle summonses after a stop in the area of Boulevard and Elmwood Terrace, the chief said.
The drug arrests have continued at a brisk pace for the department — including two separate incidents involving traffic stops on Wednesday.
Robert Vaccaro, 32, of Creskill was released without bail pending a Municipal Court hearing on charges of drug possession and careless driving after officers found him carrying 10 bags of heroin during a stop just before 8 p.m. at Market Street and River Drive, Foligno said.
A shor time earlier, they arrested 25-year-old John Ragosta of Dumont after stopping him in the area of East 53rd Street and finding eight bags of heroin, a bag of marijuana, a hypodermic syringe and a glass pipe, the chief said. He also received several motor vehicles summonses.
Ragosta, like Vaccaro, was processed and released pending a court appearance.
