Tires slashed overnight on 24 vehicles in New Milford

UPDATE: Crime Stoppers of Central Bergen is offering a cash reward to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest in the slashings of 37 tires on 22 cars in New Milford.

The attacks occurred between 1 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. yesterday on Charles Street and McKinley and Madison Avenues, Detective Kevin Van Saders told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

“All of the tires appeared to have been punctured with a flathead screwdriver type tool,” he said. “One of the vehicles was also significantly scratched up on its hood and driver’s side door.”

The Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification collected evidence for the borough police investigation.
