NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- A trio of New Milford police officers helped deliver a newborn girl Sunday morning.

Officer Samuel Gerais arrived at the Huguenot Drive home just before 8:30 a.m. to find the woman in labor, Detective Lt. Kevin Van Saders said.

Gerais, who helped delivered the newborn, was joined by Sgt. Justin Pisano and Capt. Kevin Kiene, along with a BLS unit from Holy Name Medical Center and Hackensack University Medical Center ALS, the lieutenant said.

Mother and daughter were doing well after being taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, Van Saders said.
