UPDATE: Dumont police and firefighters lifted a car off a pedestrian who was pinned beneath it after being struck Friday night -- the second time she'd been hit in under a month, responders said.
The victim, who is in her late 40s, was in stable condition after being struck by the small sedan around 6:40 p.m. at New Milford Avenue and Concord Street, they said.
She apparently had a fractured ankle and burns on her back from the exhaust.
She was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.
The area was cordoned off while authorities collected evidence.
The same woman had been struck recently in Dumont but wasn't seriously injured, responders said.
