Detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office who were tipped off to the operation seized nearly three ounces of crystal methamphetamine, worth about $10,000, authorities said.

Arrested were Cloyde R. Pulones, 39, and Roger N. Vinluan, 57, of Dumont, along with Carlito S. Mendoza, also 57, of Bergenfield.

The drug was shipped through the U.S. Postal Service to Pulmones's Washington Avenue apartment, where it was then re-packaged for distribution, Gurbir said Thursday.

Moments before a package of crystal meth was to be delivered there on Wednesday, detectives swooped in, the prosecutor said.

They then conducted a "controlled delivery" to the apartment and arrested all three men there, he said.

Pulmones was trying to flush some of the drugs down the toilet when investigators grabbed him, the prosecutor added.

Besides the crystal meth and money, they seized a large number of empty plastic packaging baggies, a digital scale, a cutting agent, and a ledger with drug distribution records, he said.

All three were charged with various drug possession and distribution counts and ordered held in the Bergen County Jail pending detention hearings.

Dumont and Bergenfield police, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service all participated in the case, Grewal said.
