NY woman caught trying to cash bogus check, Bergenfield police say

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Bergenfield police nabbed a Suffolk County, NY woman who they said was carrying hypodermic needles when she tried to cash a bogus check.

Stacy Weidner, 25, was being held on $5,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail after borough police arrested her at the TD Bank branch on North Washington Avenue yesterday afternoon.

Weidner “admitted to signing the check and attempting to cash” the $950 check “for a friend in return for some of the proceeds,” Capt. Cathy Madalone said this morning.

She is charged with forgery and possession of the needles.
