NJ lawmaker urges probe of Planned Parenthood sex trade video

State Sen. Michael Doherty is urging authorities to investigate an undercover video made by a anti-abortion group that shows a Planned Parenthood manager from New Jersey advising a pimp on how to hide his underage sex slaves from the law.

“I believe that the taxpayers of this state will want a full and thorough investigation of this organization and its activities,” Doherty said.

This comes amid pressure by a group of Democratic state Assemblywomen for Gov. Christie to restore funding for family-planning clinics.

Christie has cut $7.5 million from women’s health and family planning services in the state budget for this year. The Democratic lawmakers say this will eliminate equal access to basic health care and cancer screenings to roughly 140,000 women.

Records show that more than 136,000 patients were served by family planning centers in New Jersey last year, and that 40,000 pregnancies and 19,000 abortions were prevented as a result.

Lila Rose and LiveAction.org produced the 11-minute undercover video — a legal practice in New Jersey, where the videotaper doesn‘t have to tell the videotaped there‘s a camera around:

The group has released more than a dozen hidden-camera videos from other states, as well, all involving actions by Planned Parenthood that it claims are illegal — covering up sexual abuse of minors, for instance.

Two people sent by Rose’s group went to a Planned Parenthood facility in Perth Amboy posing as a prostitute and her pimp. The woman who spoke to them made several comments that LiveAction says could incriminate her in sex crimes.

For instance, although she acknowledged the clinic’s duty to report any sexual-transmitted diseases in girls 14 and under, the Planned Parenthood worker is caught saying the clinic could avoid reporting if patients simply lie about or “forgot” to cite their ages.

“For the most part, we want as little information as possible,” the woman says, adding that the pimp can get cheaper contraception by claiming his hookers are students.

“We want to make it look as legit as possible,” she says.

She even refers the couple to the Metropolitan Medical Association, where “their protocols aren’t as strict as ours and they don’t get audited the same way that we do.”

Later, she tells them that a prostitute who just had an abortion can go back to work in a “minimum of 2 weeks… [from the] waist up, or just be that extra action walking by.”

“This conduct is abhorrent,” Doherty said. “That this agency and its employees would implicitly endorse the trafficking and exploitation of underage sex slaves is beyond my comprehension.

”It is more repulsive that this same agency has repeatedly asked the state and federal governments to fund its activities with taxpayer dollars.”

Doherty said he is writing directly to state Attorney General Paula Dow “to open an investigation into the involvement of Planned Parenthood’s employees in human trafficking and sexual slavery in New Jersey.  I urge my colleagues in other states and at the federal level to do the same.”

Planned Parenthood took the offensive before the video was released, claiming it had been victimized by a sting.

But LiveAction had already sent the footage to Dow, US Attorney General Eric Holder, and the FBI, among other law enforcement agencies.

“This proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Planned Parenthood intentionally breaks state and federal laws and covers up the abuse of the young girls it claims to serve,” said Rose, LiveAction’s 22-year-old president. “Congress must cease funding and the Department of Justice should investigate this corrupt organization immediately.”
