NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- New Milford police arrested two 22-year-old Bronx women who they said mugged a borough woman Tuesday night in front of the River Road ShopRite.
The victim told police the pair hit her several times in the head, knocking her down, just before 9 p.m., Detectives Kevin Van Saders, said Tuesday evening.
Emergency medical workers treated the woman for a bruise on her forehead, a fractured finger and several cuts on her arms and hands, Van Saders said.
Meanwhile, police arrested Mary Gresham and Valerie Relerford on robbery charges. Both were being held on $75,000 bail each in the Bergen County Jail.
They also arrested 24-year-old Imran Mitcham of New Mlford, who Van Saders said was "peripherally involved." Mitcham was being held on $50,000 bail, charged with conspiracy to commit robbery.
