Samuel Klin Mensah is described as 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes.
He is “reported to be despondent with suicidal thoughts over very recent death of his spouse [Linda],” Police Chief Michael Carr said this afternoon. “He has no vehicle and may be on foot or have used local mass transportation.
“If anyone knows his whereabouts or may have seen him, please contact the police department using 911,” the chief said.
Borough police arrested Mensah on resisting and improper behavior charges on March 5 (see mugshot, above). He was released from the Bergen County Jail on his own recognizance yesterday.
A call around 9:30 this morning brought law enforcement personnel to the 30 Frederick Place residence. where they attempted to contact Mensah.
They eventually entered and searched the home with negative results, said Carr, who said that “all precautions” were taken based on a recent arrest that involved resistance.
“There are no known weapons on the premises and no threats have been made regarding use of weapons,” the chief said earlier.
The area of New Bridge Road and Frederick Place was cleared for traffic after being barricaded during the search.
